The Abarth 124 rally is increasingly competitive overall, obtaining two peremptory successes in the category last week, highlighted by an important position in the overall ranking.
In France, the Milano Racing team, with its young driver Nicolas Ciamin (FRA) and navigator Thibault De La Haye, achieved first position among the GT+ in the Lyon-Carbonnière Rally, the second race in the transalpine championship, to obtain an excellent 8th position overall in a highly competitive championship. Ciamin dominated the category, in the lead from the start and finishing the first day with an advantage of more than 30". On the second day, he won another 4 special trials, using his advantage to obtain his first success of the season, after the second position in the Rallye du Touquet. The transalpine driver also won the Michelin Cup, awarded to the first 2-wheel drive car.
Ciamin announced: "On paper, this route was not in our favour, but we discovered that the Abarth 124 rally is also competitive on fast roads that require a lot of power. We managed to beat our direct rivals in the championship and we are ready for the next challenge".

Exceptional overall performance for the Abarth 124 rally of Bernini Rally team in the Vipavska Rally in Slovenia: besides dominating the R-GT category, Italians Andrea Nucita and Marco Vozzo finished in third position, with the additional satisfaction of winning the last special trial, ahead of numerous cars in a higher category (R5), with four-wheel drive.
On arrival, Nuscita announced: "With this exceptional performance, we have demonstrated that the Abarth 124 rally may be the right car to shine in all of the championships. Race after race, we continue development work that is making it even faster and more reliable".
On the track, in the first trial of the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, which takes place on the Adria circuit, a double success for the young Brazilian Enzo Fittipaldi, nephew of Emerson, twice Formula 1 world champion. Starting in pole position in Race 1, Fittipaldi finished ahead of the Italian Leonardo Lorandi, who then won the second round. In the third, Fittipaldi once again finished ahead of Lorandi. Now, the Brazilian is at the top of the overall championship ranking, with an advantage of 4 points over the Italian driver.
With 31 drivers from 17 different nations at the starting line in the Tatuus single-seater propelled by the 160 HP Abarth T-Jet engine, it was quite a show, and the fifth season of the Italian series was very competitive, confirming Abarth's fundamental role in training drivers.
