    • The Abarth 124 rally wins again in the R-GT in Latvia and Italy

      • Thanks to his result in the Rally Liepaja in Latvia, Simone Tempestini (ITA) wins the European Championship of the Abarth 124 Rally Selenia International Challenge
      • Andrea Modanesi (ITA) wins the category in the Rally 2 Valli (Verona), the final round of the Italian Championship

The Abarth 124 Rally achieved two other successes in the category on the dirt track of the Rally Liepaja in Latvia, and on the tarmac of the Rally 2 Valli in Italy, leading to 36 firsts by the Scorpion in the R-GT category this year, in 12 different international championships.
In Latvia, Simone Tempestini (Italian with a Romanian license) and Sergiu Itu (ROM) drove a conservative race that allowed them to win the continental title in the Abarth 124 rally Selenia International Challenge, after their success in the category during the Rally Poland, and second place in the Barum Rally Zlin in the Czech Republic. So, the Bernini Rally team celebrates a prestigious title, with Tempestini, a young and promising Italian driver, who, on arrival, declared with much satisfaction: "It was a very hard race. The first leg did not go well, but in the second, despite the very slippery surface, we made a comeback and got good lap times in the special fast trials. Today, our goal was to win the Abarth Trophy and the rich final prize".
In the Rally 2 Valli in Verona, the last Italian Championship, another Abarth 124 rally of the Bernini Rally team, driven by the young Italian Andrea Modanesi with Roberto Maleki (ITA), distinguished itself in its class. Following an initial duel with teammate Christopher Lucchesi (ITA), with co-driver Marco Pollicino (ITA), Modanesi took the lead in the R-GT category during the fourth special trial, and held onto it until the end of the race.
Modanesi: "it was a special season, in which I tried to gain experience in different driving conditions. The Abarth 124 rally supported me, allowing me to accomplish challenging races with the Tour de Corse World Championship and win first place on the dirt tracks of the Rally San Marino and the Adriatic, as well as here in the 2 Valli".
The winning crew of the Under 35 category of the ACI Rally Italia Talent, composed of Andrea Lasevoli from Tuscany and Luciano Finzi from Milan, behind the wheel of an Abarth 500 R3T, paid for its lack of racing experience, exiting at the first special trial, without being able to finish the race.
